LATEST NEWS FROM HELLS GATE WAI ORA SPA Interactive Centre now at Hells Gate!! Visitors can now PARTICIPATE in a number of activities in their own time at their own leisure at Hells Gate.  Newly built, the interactive area provides visitors with a real ‘hands on’ cultural experience with such activities as Whakairo (wood carving), this is where you can carve your personal wood tile to take home under the supervision of our trained artists, traditional weaving using traditional plants e.g. flax, Maori costume dress-up photo opportunities, and tattoo (moko) face painting (water based ink). These interactive activities along with a tour of the thermal park and a mud bath and spa will most definitely leave you wanting more of this unique and wonderful culture. The centre is open from 10.00am – 5.00pm daily. Closed only on Christmas Day.
