Hells Gate hosts Rotorua
“Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and caldron bubble - By the pricking of my thumbs something wicked this way comes…”
Hells Gate will be hosting the Rotorua Shakespeare Outside performance of Macbeth between the 19th and 23rd of January 2011. The production will occur on stage within the geothermal park, setting the perfect scene for one of the most famous plays in history.
In conjunction with Hells Gate, this is the sixth consecutive production from Rotorua Shakespeare Outside. The Hells Gate Operations Manager and Director of Macbeth, Te Ao Tahana-Reese mentioned that “Hells Gate is the perfect environment for Macbeth. I believe that we are the only geothermal park in New Zealand to host a production of this magnitude. We look forward to next year, and hope there will be possible opportunities for more productions at Hells Gate in the future.”
For only $20, the ticket price includes the Macbeth performance and one free admission to Hells Gate’s Mud Trail over the five day period. Tickets are available from Hells Gate and McLeods Booksellers in Rotorua.
