The New Zealand Spa
The New Zealand Spa Facility is where visitors can experience the unique geothermal mud and sulphurous waters in privacy as well as in a totally unique environment. The historic mud spa setting replicates the bathing experience of 150 years ago however the mud baths are private and clients can enjoy the private lounge while waiting for a geothermal mud face or body treatment or the relaxing Wai Ora Traditional Massage based on the Maori massage techniques of Miri MIri Clients can relax in comfort, prior to, during and after their spa treatments; a totally, uniquely New Zealand Spa Experience..
There are three private mud baths in the New Zealand Spa Facility – one family and two three-person baths each containing in excess of 40 - 60kgs of the finest geothermal muds in both suspended and solid form. After your mud bath, visitors can then go into the “North Island” shaped sulphur spa or the deeper “South Island” shaped sulphur spa..
At the New Zealand Spa experience clients can book in for a number of unique spa therapies all based on the Maori healing and wellness traditions. These therapies form a component of the "New Zealand Cultural Spa Experience©" regime of therapies which are unique and exclusive to the Wai Ora Group of Companies.
"New Zealand Cultural Spa Experience©" therapies available at the Historic New Zealand Spa facility include:
- Wai Ora Geothermal Mud Facial - a 5 step facial regime using the exclusive "Alite" range of thermal mud spa products including the unique grey and white geothermal mud of Hells Gate geothermal park.
- Wai Ora Geothermal Body Scrub and Polish - a 5 step full body scrub and polish regime including a relaxation head and face massage. Again using the exclusive "Alite" range of thermal mud spa products including the unique grey geothermal mud of Hells Gate
- Wai Ora Traditional Massage - this is a full body relaxation massage based on the massage techniques of the Maori massage method of Miri Miri. This can be either a 30 minute or 60 minute experience.
